The Dairy Statesmen are in the middle of an exciting transition.  We have joined forces with a new and dynamic coach/director, Mr. Bill Griffith. Bill is going to propel the chorus back to the 70’s, a period of time when the Dairy Statesmen were at their peak.  The days of standing on the risers and belting out a few barbershop tunes are over.  In the very near future the chorus will be introduced to new and exciting arrangements, which will not only be sung but performed.  If you or someone you know ever considered joining our chorus now would be a perfect time – we need you.

Here is a portion of the vast musical resume of Mr. William J. Griffith:

·      Director of Music – Apostle Presbyterian Church, West Allis, Wisconsin

·      Director of Music – Trinity Presbyterian Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

·      Founder & CEO: New Horizons Singers 1978 – 2005;

Find out what attracts 30,000 men worldwide to pursue their love of barbershop harmony.  If you like to sing we can help you take it to the next level.  Even if you don’t read music, or just consider yourself as having an average voice, you can start singing with the Dairy Statesmen Barbershop Chorus.   Other society members will help you not only learn, but improve as a performer.

It’s all about the music.  Today, barbershop singing is a lot more than old tunes.  Many contemporary songs are performed in the barbershop style.  Singing is also a great way to form lasting friendships with men of all ages and walks of life.

Stop by and say hello, give us a week or two, maybe even three.  Try us out and see if you like it; we will do our best to make you feel welcome.  If you would like additional information give me a call, Mark Geisler

As the newly elected President of the Dairy Statesmen Barbershop Chorus, I would like to invite you to sing with us. My focus as President is membership and, like most organizations, recruiting and developing new members is a challenge. The Statesmen are no exception; we need a few good men.

Our meeting and rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 9:15 in the Regency Mall , near Talbot's entrance,
5538 Durand Ave
Racine
, Wisconsin.

The mission of the organization is advocacy at all levels of society to keep recreational and social singing an important part of our culture. Our performances enhance community cultural life, preserve the art form, and bring cheer to all that attend. The Dairy Statesmen Chorus and quartets contribute many hours per year and we sing for people at churches, schools, hospitals, senior centers, etc. Barber shoppers give their time and the performances contribute to local communities/charities.

I consider the Statesmen a Triple A farm team not quite in the big leagues. However, if you join our chorus and want to try the big leagues, we can show you how.
I’m on a youth movement looking for singers between 40 and 60 years old, with average (or above) singing talent. Seventy-six percent of barbershop singers worldwide have no children at home, and this may just be the target group. If you find yourself with some extra time on your hands, maybe the kid(s) are off to school, or married, come sing with us. If you have seen us perform and thought to yourselves as I did: “they look like they’re having a good time” or “I could do that,” we are and you can. Consider being a part of our fun and helpful organization.  Stop by and say hello, give us a week or two, maybe even three. Try us out and see if you like it; we will do our best to make you feel welcome.

If you would like additional information give me a call,

Mark Geisler, President of the Dairy Statesmen at (262) 639-0547.
